I guess there will be a number of people looking for a replacement for
b.b.support - but it might be best to raise the question over there.

Most of the discussion over there has been about alternative news
servers, with little thought about which group to hang out in. Of the
possible alternatives, free.uk.btinternet.chatter.refugees seems to be
the only one with any activity.

Hi Paul,
free.uk.btinternet.chatter.refugees is a text only newsgroup that was
created after a bunch of BT Internet users had problems with BT's
service and so joined other ISPs which meant we were unable to access
BT's newsgroups. We therefore formed our own newsgroup - that is why we
called ourselves 'refugees'.

see here...
http://www.refugees.plus.com/HistoryOld.htm

Any *BT Chat* subscribers are more than welcome to join and chat on our
group which seems to be carried by most free servers including these:
*
Aioe - http://www.aioe.org/
*
Albasani - http://www.albasani.net/index.html.en
*
Eternal September - http://www.eternal-september.org/
*
Datemas - http://news.datemas.de/ but now costs 5.00 EUR per year
unless like me you already have an account with them, in which case it
remains free.
*
there may be other servers.
free.uk.btinternet.chatter.refugees

You are welcome to copy/paste this into the BT Chat newsgroup.

We always have activity on that group. See for yourself :-)

hehehe! That was a knock at me. Chief sleepy head of the group, and one
of the founders.
